FAQs

When do club nights run for the 2025/26 season?

We run club nights on Friday nights, with the first club night being 10th October 2025. The final club night before the end of 2025 is 5th December 2025. The next club night after the end of year break will be on the 30th January 2026 and our final club night will be 27th March 2025.

Can I use the Queensland Government Play On! Sports Vouchers for Bellbowrie Swimming Club membership?

Yes! We are a registered Activity Provider and it is a simple process to pay for your membership via Swim Central with a Play On! voucher. Reach out to the committee at bellbowrieswimclub@gmail.com for more information on how to make the most value of your Play On! voucher.

How much is membership for the season?

In an effort to continue to grow membership at the club, for the 2025/ 2026 season, we are continuing to hold our discounted Recreational Swimmer membership at $99. We also offer memberships for Junior Swimmers ($175) and Competitive swimmers ($215), which includes access to interclub competitions through Swimming Queensland. Membership covers insurance, club nights, special events, ribbons, awards, trophies and a swim log book. All of our memberships are available via Swim Central (https://swimcentral.swimming.org.au/).

My child is not sure about joining Bellbowrie Swim Club. Is there a trial period?

New swimmers are welcome to register for a free Come N Try membership on Swim Central (https://swimcentral.swimming.org.au/).  This allows swimmers to experience Friday Club Nights for up to one month from the date membership is registered, at no cost, before committing to a paid membership option.

When is the Club Championship date?

We intend to run our Club Championship on Friday 20th March 2026.

Are swimmers competing against others?

Swimmers compete against their own times from week to week, with the emphasis being on individual improvement and participation. At Club Championships, swimmers will compete against swimmers of the same gender and age, for medals based on place.

What time do Club Nights run?

We encourage families to arrive from 5.45pm, so that we can start our first event as close to 6pm as possible. We open nominations almost a week ahead of time via Swim Central, and ask all families to ensure their swimmers are nominated in advance. We always aim to have our club nights finished by about 7.45pm, so that we can finishing packing up and let the Just Lifestyle team head home by 8pm!

My child has never swum before at club, what event(s) should we nominate for?

It might be best to contact the committee before nominating (bellbowrieswimclub@gmail.com).  We encourage swimmers who have never swum at a club night before to try 15m first. If your swimmer is currently in stroke correction swimming lessons, but has never swum a 50m race before, we recommend starting at 25m. We use qualifying times to determine progression for swimmers to 50m races, and we share these times on our website. Swimmers who have already posted a time on Swim Central for 50m distances may enter into 50m races. We ask any new swimmers to our club, or swimmers who have not yet posted a time that meets our posted qualifying times, to either nominate for 25m or contact the committee to arrange for a trial to record a qualifying time.

How many events can a swimmer nominate for on a Friday Club Night?

Swimmers should nominate for one distance for each stroke they are interested in swimming in, as well as the 100m Any Stroke/ Individual Medley if they have qualified to swim at 50m distance. This will be a maximum of five (5) individual events for any swimmer.

Will there be food available on Friday nights?

The Bellbowrie Swimming Club runs a weekly sausage sizzle, raising money for the club.  The Just Lifestyle team at Bellbowrie Swimming Pool also have the cafe open up near the pool entrance, with hot and cold drinks and a range of sweet treats and ice creams!
